The strength of what we believe is measured by how much we are willing to suffer for those beliefs. Joseph was to be wed to Mary. Joseph was a man of strong beliefs. He was prepared to do what was right, despite the pain he knew it would cause. He not only did what was right, but he also tried to do it in the right way. Mary was pregnant and the child was not his and it was mind boggling to accept that the “someone else” was God. An angel of the Lord convinced Joseph to follow through with the marriage. It still was not without cost.
Questions: (1) In this free country we live in, what ways do Christians suffer for following Jesus? (2) Are you? (3) If no, then why not?
